Drake, the Canadian rapper who has seemed to put “Toronto” to, “the Six” on the map has finally released his very hyped up album, Views. This album has been talked about ever since he dropped his mixtape, “If You’re reading This, It’s Too Late.”
The album starts off with the song, “Keep The Family Close”, this song speaks mostly about trust issues and how friends may betray you, but family is always there. This song has a very R&B vibe.
The song “Hype” has a similar flow to his songs “Back to Back” and “Summer Sixteen”. The song is about his riches and competition. It is a very trap like song.
Views also features his songs “One Dance” and the very popular “Hotline Bling”. One Dance has been all over the radio since it’s release because it is easily the most upbeat and fun song on this album.
Rihanna and Drake have collaborated many times, the most recent being on her album ANTI on the song “Work”, which received a lot of attention for its catchy beat and lyrics. They gave us all a surprise when they collabed on the song “Too Good”. The song has a very catchy island vibe and focuses on the theme of relationships.
The self-titled song “Views”, is the nineteenth track and the song is about having faith and being loyal. It speaks about about faith in God, but the “6 God” (Drake) speaks of faith to things other than God.
Overall this album is similar to what we’ve all seen from Drake. It is still very good and has a bit of both trap and r&b influenced songs. It is worth listening to.
