honeyLana Del Rey is a 30 year old alternative singer from New York. On September 18, she released her fourth studio album titled “Honeymoon.”

The first single released from the album is called “High By The Beach.” It’s an upbeat more techno song. It is one of Lana’s more different songs because she’s never really had these kinds of beats. It was released on August 10 and is the fifth track on the album.

Lana also released other singles titled; “Honeymoon”, “Terrence Loves You” and “Music To Watch Boys To.” This album is much different to some of Del Rey’s other albums because it’s new, it has different beats mixing in instruments and unheard melodies. It is a very mature sound.

Some songs that are for me the best are, “Art Deco”, which is the seventh track and it’s full of melodies and soft captivating vocals. It makes you feel like you’re in some art museum, just exploring your mind and other artists.

Another one called “Freak”, is a very sensual tune. What I mean by that is that the lyrics are amazing. The sound, brilliant. There is an instrument in the song mixed with a soft beat, and a drop. The entire album is art. Just listen to “Religion.” The guitar in the background is so beautiful, especially because the beat increases and around one minute in, it suddenly goes low.

Although it is a beautiful album, something is missing. It is a whole new sound, and it isn’t bad, but compared to Del Rey’s past ones, it isn’t the best. I missed the whole “WOW” moment. Over all I think I give it a 9/10 rating because I needed a song that gave me a sense of power, similar to her song off “Ultraviolence” called, “Money Power Glory.”
