This week I have decided to talk about a known electronic duo from England who call themselves Disclosure. The two members are brothers and their names are Guy and Howard Lawrence. Their first album is called ‘Settle’, and it helped them rise to fame because it included their hit song ‘Latch’, featuring Sam Smith.
Now, in 2015, the duo released their second album titled ‘Caracal’. This album features vocals from Lorde, Miguel, Sam Smith, The Weeknd, and other artists. The music videos for some songs that were released as singles are out on Youtube, and are interconnected, so they follow a story line. The videos are sci-fi themed and are very interesting.
This album is so so good, I am not just saying that, I mean it. It makes my chest hurt because of how good it is. Some of my favorite songs on the album are ‘Magnets’ featuring Lorde, because Lorde is so mysterious and her voice is so raspy. The beats in the back remind me of an action movie, plus in the video, the woman is pretty hard core. It makes me feel powerful.
I also really enjoyed the song ‘Omen’ with Sam Smith. Sam Smith has this very angelic voice that could probably make singing the abc’s sound like an angel is singing. The beat is uplifting and fun, the claps and the different sounds just make you want to dance.
The production of this album is amazing as well. It is one of those albums that you can play over and over, and not get bored. It is fun, that is the only way to really describe it. It is an album you can be wild and dance to. This is that album. I am really pleased with it.
