Troye Sivan released his second EP, titled “WILD” on September 2, 2015. Troye is a very successful youtuber with over 3 million subscribers. His very first EP was titled “TRXYE” and was released last year, this EP contains more pop and features six tracks.
The first track is called “WILD” or “Blue Neighbourhood.” It starts off the EP with very calm vocals and beat. The song also has child like voices in the background, singing a melody that brings a sense of youth to the song. This is also the only song that has a music video so far.
“BITE” is the second track on the EP and it is kind of a slow song with very mature lyrics. It has an electronic beat, switching to a different instrument at times.
My personal favorite song, “FOOLS,” is the third track, it begins with a soft piano, but it slowly fades and becomes an electronic beat. Toward the middle of the song is when the beat drops, it builds up throughout the song then it changes quickly, that’s what made it so good. It’s a song that you put on when you just want to vibe to with the windows down and blast in your car.
The fourth song on the EP is “EASE” and it features the duo Broods. It has a pop beat like all of the songs, but what makes this song diverse is the instruments toward the middle of the song. Also when Broods and Troye sing together it sounds like magic. They harmonize so well.
The fifth song is called “THE QUIET,” and it’s anything but quiet. There are parts of the song when it’s soft, but then the beat changes into something so hypnotizing, a mix of sounds that are unexplainable.
The final song on the EP is called “DKLA,” and it features Tkay Maidza. This song is one of those that you play when laying down, but it’s still upbeat, so you won’t fall asleep. It is very enjoyable.
Overall this EP is great for people who like calm music and electronic beats.
