Beauty and The Beast are back! The official trailer for one of Disney’s most recent movies came out on November 14, 2016, and has already reached almost 1 million views on the Disney Movie Trailer YouTube channel. Â
The new movie stars Emma Watson as Belle as well as Dan Stevens as the Beast, and by the looks of the trailer, we’re in for quite a ride. Just like the original tale, Belle takes the place of her captured father and eventually falls in love with the Beast. Although the trailer isn’t all that clear as to how her father got there, we can kind of see that he was picking a white rose when he was taken by the Beast, but in the original movie, Maurice found the castle when he got lost and then was captured when he was found inside the castle.
Another difference that most viewers would not notice is that in the original movie, the picture of the Beast in human form is a much older man, around his twenties, but in the newest trailer, the portrait of the Beast is a little boy around the age of 10-12 standing between his parents. Which is fairly more accurate considering the fact that in the first movie he was about to turn 21 and was stuck in the castle for 10 years. That means he was 11 when he was cursed, but the portrait in the original is obviously of a much older man, which makes the viewers think that this could be a timing mistake on the original writer’s part and Disney is just taking the courtesy of fixing it. We’ll never really know!
Despite these little changes, the rest of the story line seems to be the same from the original movie. The same love story, with a little less of the musical part, the same yellow dress and blue coat, and of course the talking household items. The movie will be officially out in theaters on March 17, 2017. Now let’s find out if “out with the old and in with the new” is really better!
